The exclusive, snow-sure resort of Courchevel is home to several Alpine Lodges projects, including our stunning Canyon Lodge development of individual chalets and our 16-property Le C residence. Courchevel has maintained its popularity as one of the most chic mountain resorts in the French Alps for good reason. Each year the extensive lift network is extended and developed. Considerable investment is also made in resort facilities and services too. Here's our round-up of everything you need to know about Courchevel this winter.
Opening dates: 9th December 2017 - 22nd April 2018
New lifts: The long-awaited replacement of the Ariondaz bubble lift from Courchevel 1650 is now underway. The original was constructed in 1974 and took over 10 minutes to reach its destination. The new lift has a maximum journey time of just 7 minutes, transporting 2400 skiers each hour in 8-person bubbles. Our property owners in Courchevel 1650 Moriond will benefit greatly from this new lift investment.https://www.facebook.com/courchevel/videos/1577061795683361/
Snow coverage: While many lower altitude ski resorts struggle with snow levels at both the beginning and the end of each winter season, Courchevel offers a 'guaranteed snow' promise. 85% of the ski area is above 1800m! A total of 2100 snow cannons cover 50% of the 3 Valleys ski area, while most runs are north facing and naturally conserve their snow. But that's not all. A further €2million is to be spent on further snow making facilities by the local lift operating company ahead of Winter 17/18.
